SUMMARY:Go Deep and Get Happy: Patience\, Joy and Meditation with Heather Breault
DESCRIPTION:This Course is the second in a three part series based upon A Guide to the Bodhisattva’s Way of Life by Master Shantideva\, and the commentary Entry Point for Children of the Victorious Buddhas by Gyaltsab Je. Suffering is all around us\, and it can be overwhelming to know what to do or how to help. Master Shantideva wrote a detailed guide on how to live as a Bodhisattva\, or spiritual warrior who works to reach enlightenment for the benefit of all beings. \nTopics include: an explanation of the perfection of patience\, the perfection of joyful effort\, and the perfection of meditative concentration; the results of anger; how to make a habit of not getting angry; obstacles to joyous effort; obstacles to meditation; compassion as a prerequisite for successful meditative concentration; where you\, your world\, and all of your experiences come from; and Buddha nature. \n10 Wednesdays April 24-June 26\, 6:30pm-8:30pm\nat Diamond Light Meditation Center\n2791 24th Street\, Room 14 (upstairs)\, Sacramento CA 95818\nparking lot in back\, ADA accessible \ncost: suggested donation $10-$20 per class\, no one turned away for lack of funds\ncash\, check or online donation: https://www.diamondlightsac.org/donate/ \nwww.diamondlightsac.org \n \nHeather started practicing yoga in 2001 and finished her teacher training in 2008. Heather’s passion is the Tibetan Gelugpa tradition\, in the lineage of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. She recently finished a six year\, eighteen course intensive and is excited to share these classes with others. \nHeather grew up in Northern California and received her Bachelor of the Arts in Communication at San Diego State University. She also has an Associate of the Arts degree in Visual Communication from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.
